How to Make the Most of Your Time in Lockdown
If you're reading this, you are likely stuck at home and trying to spend as little time out of the house as possible. With COVID-19 impacting everything we do on a daily basis, it becomes hard to fight the boredom that being locked down at home brings. Aside from the basics - washing your hands, cleaning the surfaces that are touched the most, and doing your WFH, you may feel like you’re running out of things to do. That is why we have worked on a list of things to combat not only COVID, but to get you through the lockdown effectively and efficiently.
1. Start a new hobby or home project
2. Get a jump start on your spring cleaning and get organized
Though it might not feel like it, as of yesterday, it is officially spring! By now you have likely cleaned your house of any germs that could possibly be residing there (hopefully), but now is time for the next step - organizing! Being stuck inside makes this the perfect time to get started on your spring cleaning. It’s time to reorganize that closet that has been cluttered for the last year. Oh, and don’t forget to make it fun! Crank up those tunes and get to cleaning! Here are 5 shortcuts to an organized home to help you get started.
3. Enlist the kids for some help around the house
Now that the kids are likely home from school, having a routine that includes daily chores is a great way to not only break up their day, but also get some help around the house. We know that is way easier said than done, but we have you covered! Make it fun for them and for yourself - try things like cleaning games and rewards. Don’t be afraid to get creative! Check out our blog where we list off our top 5 ways of making cleaning fun for your kids!
4. Get active
Looking for something to do but don’t want to go somewhere that there will be a large number of people? Go for a nice stroll around the neighborhood, or even better, turn your cleaning routine into a little workout to get the heart pumping! With gyms closing down for the time being, now is the time to make the most of your day and turn your activities into mini workouts. There are also plenty of gyms and fitness centers that are now offering at-home workouts - Barry’s, Orange Theory, CorePower Yoga, and Peloton are a few of our favorites.
Being stuck at home doesn’t mean you need to be unproductive and inactive. Hopefully this quick list helps bring some inspiration to you during these times of social distancing. Don’t forget to follow the CDC’s suggestions for preventing COVID-19. Stay healthy!
